Bandsintown Launches French and Spanish Language Facebook Apps
March 28, 2012 – Bandsintown, the top live concert tracking and discovery application, is now available in localized versions for French- and Spanish-speaking individuals, both for fans and for the artist’s Bandsintown page administrators. The app will automatically detect Facebook users’ Account Settings for language and, if they have selected French or Spanish, display tour dates in their native tongues. All of the Bandsintown Facebook app Administration tools will also be automatically translated. These new versions will help to expand Bandsintown’s international presence.
“Live music is a communal experience that brings together all different kinds of people who share a mutual interest: musicians they are passionate about,” said Julien Mitelberg, CEO of Bandsintown. “In that spirit, we want to make Bandsintown accessible to as many people as possible, and our French and Spanish versions go a long way toward accomplishing that goal.”
Bandsintown is the leading Facebook application for live music fans and artists. For fans, Bandsintown provides a personalized way for music fans to track their favorite artists so they never miss a live concert and to discover new touring artists, based on their musical preferences and location. For artists, Bandsintown provides a best-in-class platform that allows artists to promote their live concerts and to sell tickets, leveraging Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and more. Acquired by Cellfish in September 2011, Bandsintown is based in San Diego.
