Cellfish Puts New Spin on NHL 3D Live Wallpaper with “Spinning Puck Playoff Edition”

April 18, 2012 – Leading mobile and social application developer, Cellfish, is getting into the playoff spirit with new upgrades to NHL 3D Live Wallpaper, an officially licensed Android app that lets fans personalize their phones in the style of their favorite teams. The “Spinning Puck Playoff Edition” version of the app will now display a spinning hockey puck at center ice emblazoned with the logo of the NHL, for free, or the user’s team of choice, after a paid upgrade, that changes speed and direction based on the user’s finger swipe (see video here). And now, for a limited time, users can add their favorite team’s logo for only $0.99.

“The NHL Playoffs have only just begun, and we’ve already seen several hotly contested matchups that are sure to go down in the history books,” said Julien Mitelberg, Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Cellfish. “Fans are coming out in droves to support their favorite teams, and we’re happy to offer them a little something extra with our app. Our goal is to give users the opportunity to show off their dedication wherever they go, and we’re excited to make that a little easier for them now.”

The freemium version of the app gives users access to an interactive NHL-themed live wallpaper design featuring vibrant colors, an animated flag, and an ice rink that can be viewed from multiple camera angles, along with the new spinning hockey puck. For a limited time, users can add their favorite team’s logo to the scene for only $0.99, a discount from the normal price of $1.99. They can also unlock all 30 NHL teams’ designs for just $4.99.

Those who have already downloaded NHL 3D Live Wallpaper will be upgraded to the new spinning-puck version for free. The app is available now on all Android phones.
