First Mobile-Generated Collective Artwork Created on by 25 Fusion Painters at Betty K Mix Studio: Cellfish Media Partnered With Betty K Mix Studio Art Workshop to Create the First Live Mobile Generated Collective Blog and Digital Artwork, the online mobile entertainment portal, successfully conducted the first mobile generated live group blog in partnership with Betty K Mix Studio, a fusion painting workshop which gathered 25 painters from all over the world in New York last week.

NEW YORK August 3, 2007’s Fusion Art channel ( provided users with an unprecedented live access to the workshop, accessible both on computers and cell phones, and entirely produced with regular cell phones broadcasting over the air.

“Using Cellfish in the workshop was a brilliant experience,” says artist Franck de Las Mercedes. “It allowed me to share this wonderful experience with friends and the world; but it also allowed me to witness my own painting process day by day and allowed others to see an artist in the act of creating a work of art.”

During the workshop, the artists took thousands of pictures, ranging from their paintings to their vision of the City, and uploaded them live on the Fusion Art Channel. Visitors were also able to subscribe to the profiles and receive the stream of pictures on their cell phones.

“As an artist and entrepreneur, I have always been interested in how technology can open new avenues for creativity,” said Betty K, founder of the Betty K Mix Studio. “Cellfish gave us the unique opportunity to use the cell phone as a digital brush and the web as a canvas.”

Each artist had a blank panel reserved on the Fusion Art Channel (, and populated the page with pictures taken from their Motorola Razor camera phones, with no specific installation required. Users were able to follow the creative process of fusion painting as-it-happened, from the studio set up to the art opening.

“Thanks to I had a fantastic experience participating in the Betty K mixed workshop and sharing my art instantly via mobile phone and the internet to my friends and art lovers. The quality of the color and clarity of the pictures on is superb. I had numerous compliments about it,” stated artist Sylvana Miceli.

“ wants to become an ideal destination for communities on-the-go,” said Fabrice Sergent, CEO of Cellfish Media LLC. “We want to allow people to share emotions as they happen; it was therefore natural that we participated in this creative whirlwind.” says this experiment is the first of a series of initiatives bridging the gap between mobile and web.
